Making a Difference, One Family at a Time
Who We Are
The mission of Extended Families of Nebraska (EFN) is to provide individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities the opportunity to lead fulfilling lives, utilizing the most natural settings possible, to achieve their maximum potential which promotes their development and success in the community.
Here For You
Extended Families of Nebraska provides residential Shared Living services in Lincoln, Omaha, and rural areas of Nebraska. We provide day services in Lincoln and Omaha
We believe in giving the people we serve the opportunity to make choices for themselves, so they live a fulfilling, meaningful, and happy life.
We will expect, foster, and promote an attitude of dignity and respect toward the people we serve, amongst our staff, subcontracted providers, and other individuals involved in our customer’s lives.
We believe that natural settings provide the individuals we serve with the best opportunity to develop relationships and to realize their full potential.
At Abilities, our motto is “Focusing on Abilities not Disabilities.” We work (and have fun) with individuals that have disabilities by providing assistance in multiple areas in a clean, friendly, and safe environment. Those who attend Abilities have the choice to engage in preferred activities and access the community throughout the day.
Extended Families of Nebraska provides residential services through Shared Living. Shared Living Providers (SLPs) support people with disabilities in a family-based setting, empowering each person served. SLPs assist people to become more independent by offering natural roles within a family home environment.
“As a Shared Living Provider, our family has grown by one. I feel grateful to be able to help him learn and grow every day. “
