Here For You

Purpose
We believe in giving the people we serve the opportunity to make choices for themselves, so they live a fulfilling, meaningful, and happy life.

Dignity
We will expect, foster, and promote an attitude of dignity and respect toward the people we serve, amongst our staff, subcontracted providers, and other individuals involved in our customer’s lives.

Community
We believe that natural settings provide the individuals we serve with the best opportunity to develop relationships and to realize their full potential.
Our Services
Day Services
At Abilities, our motto is “Focusing on Abilities not Disabilities.” We work (and have fun) with individuals that have disabilities by providing assistance in multiple areas in a clean, friendly, and safe environment. Those who attend Abilities have the choice to engage in preferred activities and access the community throughout the day.
Residential Services
Extended Families of Nebraska provides residential services through Shared Living. Shared Living Providers (SLPs) support people with disabilities in a family-based setting, empowering each person served. SLPs assist people to become more independent by offering natural roles within a family home environment.
Testimonials
“The staff here are amazing! They actually care about us. Emily (DSP) guides me, so I can learn from my mistakes. She helps me understand stuff. This is my favorite place I’ve ever been for day services. I can count on transportation to pick me up from my home and get me out into the community to do fun stuff. “

“I like living in the country, having chickens and a couple of horses, a dog and a cat. The favorite things I’ve done with my SLP is to help a build deck, make money, and that they helped me to help my mother. I also went to Texas with my SLP a year ago. I like to bring my bull to the park and practice lassoing there. I’m living my best life!”

“I like living with my SLP much better than living in a group home. She’s more like family and is a good person to me. I’ve been with her for seven years. I love her, I love her family, I love EFN, I love the cooking classes at Abilities, I love the clients and the staff. I enjoy myself here!”
